Carlingford – medieval town under Slieve Foy
Carlingford, louth
Carlingford is one of the best-preserved medieval towns in Ireland: a knot of cobbled lanes under Slieve Foy, with King John's Castle, the 13th-century Dominican Priory and Taaffe's Castle all within a few minutes' walk. It's also the launch point for Slieve Foy, the Táin Way and the Greenway to Omeath.
