Castle Ward – the two-faced mansion
Strangford, down
Castle Ward is one house with two faces – a prim Palladian front and a Georgian Gothic rear, the result of an 18th-century couple who could not agree. The National Trust estate on Strangford Lough runs to about 820 acres, with over 13 miles of trails, a working corn mill, and the farmyard that played Winterfell in *Game of Thrones*.
